Meyad Alkarni
NEUTROPHIL MEDIATED CONTROL OF NON-TUBERCULOUS MYCOBACTERIA IN PATIENTS WITH PRIMARY HYPOGAMMAGLOBULINAEMIA
Meyad Alkarni is a second-year PhD student at University College London’s Institute of Immunity and Transplantation, Division of Infection and Immunity. Her main research interest focuses on the role of neutrophils in NTM-pulmonary disease and prevention. Meyad holds a master’s degree in medical microbiology and a BSc in clinical laboratory sciences from King Saud University (KSU), Saudi Arabia. Meyad had worked as a lecturer at the college of applied medical sciences at KSU before joining UCL in 2019.
James Di Michiel

James Di Michiel is a Respiratory and Sleep Physician living and working in the greater Sydney area. His major interest areas include airways disease and bronchiectasis, smoking cessation and sleep disorders. He is currently undertaking a Masters of Medicine at UNSW in the area of sleep and nicotine dependence. He also has a keen interest in public and international health, having spent time providing healthcare and undertaking research in the Pacific Islands.
Diego Maselli
SMALL AIRWAY DISEASE AND EMPHYSEMA ARE ASSOCIATED WITH FUTURE EXACERBATIONS IN SMOKERS WITH BRONCHIECTASIS
Diego J Maselli, MD, FCCP, is an Associate Professor of Medicine of the Division of Pulmonary Diseases & Critical Care at UT Health San Antonio, Texas. He is originally from Guatemala City, where he completed medical degree. Dr. Maselli completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Texas in Houston, TX fellowship in Pulmonary Diseases & Critical Care at UT Health San Antonio where he remained as part of the faculty. In 2016, he founded the Severe Asthma Program at the University Health System in San Antonio. Dr. Maselli’s research focuses on severe asthma, non-cystic fibrosis bronchiectasis, and COPD.
